Sweet Wishes

I decided to try my hand at using the "Masking" technique.  I watched a couple of videos and then tried my hand at it using the Hello Cupcake (SAB 2019) set.

I started out by stamping my image on my Whisper White card stock.  I had already stamped one imagine and cut it out (as seen with the post-it on it).

Then, you place the cut out image over the stamped one to "mask it" or hide it so it doesn't get ink from the other cupcakes on it.
Next, stamp your other images next to it (they will overlap; that's okay).  For this card, I wanted 3 cupcakes, so I stamped two Granny Apple Green ones over the cut out Gorgeous Grape cupcake.
Take off the post-it / cut out image and this is what you'll see.  It looks like they are layered.  Even though I felt I had cut out my masking image pretty closely, it still looks like I could have gotten a bit closer.  Not bad for a first time though! :-)
Next put the cupcake tops on - you can do this without any images cut out / masking because the middle cupcake topper will cover up part of the other ones.  You'll see this in the next photo.
I took Lovely Lipstick and stamped the middle cupcake toppers it onto Whisper White paper and then cut them out.  I placed 3 dimensionals on each one so that it would stand off the card just a bit.
Place it on top (see how it covers up part of the other 2 toppers?)  Then I took the sentiment, "Sweet Wishes" and cut it out with the Layering Oval Framelit dies.
Here's the finished card.

It was much easier than I expected, and now I have one more technique in my arsenal to use.  I love learning "new" things!  This certainly isn't a new technique  but it is new to me.  If you give it a try, post your link or picture below - I'd love to see what you create!

Happy Stamping!
